Top Military Friendly Employer Combined Insurance Supports Wounded Veterans and Their Families with $10,000 Donation to Fort Bragg Fisher House

GLENVIEW, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Combined Insurance, a leading provider of individual supplemental accidentdisabilityhealth and life insurance products, and an ACE Group company, reinforced its commitment to support U.S. military men and women with its recent $10,000 donation to the Fort Bragg Fisher House in Fort Bragg, N.C.

The donation to the Fort Bragg Fisher House was given by Combined Insurance on behalf of its South zone as part of “Operation Veteran Giveback,” a recent sales incentive competition among the company’s four U.S. zones. As a reward for the top two producing zones, Combined Insurance would make donations to the winning zones military-related charities of choice. As one of the top producing zones, the South zone, which extends from Texas to Virginia, won a $20,000 donation and chose the Fort Hood Fisher House, as well as the Fort Bragg Fisher House, as recipients of the donation – each receiving $10,000.

“As the Top Military Friendly® Employer for 2015, Combined Insurance is committed to supporting our military,” said Rick Izze, market director, South zone for Combined Insurance. “This donation is not only a way for our team of agents and managers to give back, but also a way for us to give our thanks to the meaningful and valuable work that the Fisher House does to support military families in need.”

The Fisher House Foundation supports a wide network of comfort homes where veterans wounded in battle and their families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. The homes are located at or near major military installation and VA medical centers nationwide. Since its inception, Fisher House locations across the country have served more than 250,000 military families.

“For over 22 years, the Fort Bragg Fisher House has proudly served our soldiers, veterans, and their families. As a charity, we depend on donations to fund the operational costs of our home. The gift we received from Combined Insurance will help us continue to keep families together as they heal from the scars of war, illnesses, and accidents,” said Lorie Southerland, manager, Fort Bragg Fisher House.

Recently named the Top Military Friendly® Employer for 2015 by Victory Media (publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine), Combined Insurance is dedicated to helping military veterans find meaningful employment as they transition back into civilian life. Since 2010, the company has hired more than 2,000 veterans, many of whom have made valuable contributions to the company and built successful, financially stable lives for themselves and their families. In 2014 alone, 42 percent of Combined Insurance’s new hires had military backgrounds.
