PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced the introduction of a new program for its U.S.-based clients that offers immediate support after environmental releases of hazardous materials and other regulated substances. The new proactive program, ACE ALERTSM (ACE Logistical Environmental Response Technology), is available 24/7 via mobile application, website link or toll free number and is designed to help ACE Environmental Risk clients better manage and potentially contain costs and limit liability after spills that require cleanup and site remediation.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this innovative program to help with the mitigation of spill exposures. ACE ALERT is truly an integral part of the ACE Environmental Risk strategy in regards to providing the necessary support to our clients in the aftermath of a pollution event,” said Craig Richardson, Senior Vice President, ACE Environmental Risk. “The overall addition of this program will help our clients find and dispatch qualified cleanup contractors, expedite regulatory reporting, potentially reduce costs associated with environmental releases, and mitigate potential liability,” added Mr. Richardson.
According to Steve Piatkowski, Vice President, ACE Environmental Risk, “A pollution event at a facility or a diesel-fuel spill resulting from a transportation accident can spark an expensive chain of events for the spill generator who is not prepared to deal with the incident quickly and efficiently. Fines and penalties for failure to comply with spill reporting regulations can be very costly. Through this new program, we are able to offer a coordinated solution to help our clients comply with reporting requirements within a specified time-frame, while also protecting the overall environment.”
ACE ALERT draws from a database of more than 3,500 environmental cleanup contractors throughout North America who are experienced and equipped to react to particular kinds of spills. Once an incident is reported, clients receive a list of available contractors in the area of the release and can make a selection to independently contract to engage their services. Additionally, clients also receive information from a database that supplies current reporting regulations and contacts for nearly 30,000 federal, state/provincial and local jurisdictions throughout North America that require reports from spill generators. The program is staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week by multilingual technical and environmental specialists who are experienced in incident coordination and regulatory reporting.
Details of the program, which is complimentary for new and current ACE Environmental Risk clients, including access to the online portal where ACE Environmental Risk clients can complete their enrollment, is available athttps://ace.spillcenter.net/. Once enrollment is complete, clients will be able to report an environmental spill incident either online, by telephone or mobile device via ACE ALERT app for iPhone, Android and certain Blackberry model users.
