SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Insurance, part of the ACE Group of insurance and reinsurance companies, today announced its appointment of Tim Shields as the Regional Head of Personal Lines and Business Insurance. He will be responsible for personal lines, specialty personal lines and small commercial business. Mr. Shields will be based in Singapore and will report to Damien Sullivan, Regional President for Asia Pacific as well as Juan Andrade, Division President, Global Personal Lines and Small Commercial Insurance.
With a career spanning a variety of roles in the UK, Middle East and Asia, Mr. Shields has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining ACE, he was with an international insurance firm for more than a decade. Since 2010, he has been the Managing Director for United Arab Emirates, after a four-year posting as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Egypt. His first Asian stint was in 2000 as the General Manager for the life and general insurance operations in Singapore. Thereafter, he spent time in Hong Kong and Vietnam in increasingly more responsible roles. Mr. Shields has broad experience in sales, marketing and distribution management, operations as well as client servicing. He has built a reputation as a growth leader with strong business acumen.
