New Insurance Policy from Chubb Provides Broad Coverage to Frequent Travelers for One Annual Premium

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For one annual premium, a new insurance policy from Chubb can help protect individuals and families from a broad range of risks while traveling for pleasure or business—regardless of how many trips they make during the annual policy period.

Chubb

Available in the United States through Chubb-appointed independent insurance agents and brokers, Passport 360SM  provides coverage for emergency medical and political evacuation, payments to medical providers for covered emergency care, replacement of clothes and other essential items due to lost or delayed baggage, and accidental death and dismemberment. The coverage also applies to nannies and other household staff who accompany insureds on a trip.

Chubb is offering two different versions of the product, Essential or Enhanced, depending on how much coverage the customer wants. For example, Essential and Enhanced provide up to $50,000 and $100,000 of coverage, respectively, for excess medical expenses.

"Passport 360 is one of the most comprehensive travel accident products on the marketplace and combines broad insurance protection with emergency medical and other services," said Christie Alderman, Vice President, Client, Product & Service, Chubb Personal Risk Services. "By paying just one premium for an entire year's coverage, families can save money and avoid coverage gaps and the hassle of buying a policy every time they travel. It's ideal for frequent travelers."

In the event of an emergency almost anywhere in the world, insureds can contact Chubb's travel assistance provider's multilingual representatives by telephone or online 24/7 to obtain referrals to nearby physicians, dentists, medical facilities, translators and lawyers.

"Imagine that while hiking through a remote part of Thailand, Peru or nearly anywhere around the world, you suddenly find yourself delirious with a fever. You don't speak the language and don't know where to turn for medical care," said Alderman. "That's where Passport 360 becomes invaluable."

Passport 360 also can help insureds take precautions before traveling. Through an online portal, insureds can obtain country and city risk ratings, real-time security alerts, local health and safety reports, travel risk mitigation tips, transportation information and medical information.

For an additional premium, insureds also can select two coverage upgrades:

  • The Golf Package covers non-refundable green fees for missed golf games, hole-in-one costs, recreational equipment delays and recreational vehicle damage; and
  • Trip Cancellation/Interruption and Event Ticket Protection reimburses insureds for prepaid non-refundable travel expenses and event tickets that cannot be used due to a trip cancellation or delay.

Coverage is subject to the language of the policies as issued.
